Gilroy Little League

Objective To modernize a legacy brand identity for the Gilroy Little League. The goal was to rescue their original 1990s artwork from low-resolution formats and transform it into a highly scalable, vector-based system. A primary driver for this rebrand was the need to attract a wider, more diverse demographic of players, specifically to expand participation in their softball and challenger leagues.

Strategy & Execution Approached by the Marketing Chair of the board of directors, I was tasked with honoring the league's history while bringing their visual presence into the modern era. Because the only surviving assets were severely degraded image files, I had to meticulously reverse engineer and redevelop the core designs. By using the original artwork as my creative foundation, I built a fresh, scalable vector architecture that retained the nostalgic spirit of the league while appealing directly to a modern audience.

Deliverables & Impact

  • Heritage Logo Restoration: Completely rebuilt the primary logo and brand marks into precise, high-resolution vector formats.

  • Scalable Iconography: Designed a comprehensive suite of secondary icons and assets specifically engineered for scalable physical production.

  • Merchandise & Apparel Application: Ensured all new visual touchpoints were perfectly optimized for deployment across a wide variety of physical mediums, including team jerseys, embroidered hats, screen-printed apparel, and large-scale environmental banners.

  • Community Growth & Accessibility: Paired with the massive outreach efforts of the new Marketing Chair, the modernized brand assets successfully resonated with entirely new demographics. This strategic collaboration netted almost double the sign-ups for both players and corporate sponsors, ultimately making the sport more equitable and accessible for the entire community.
